Donkeys were written about in the bible quite often. One footnote in the Life Application Bible calls them "pick-up trucks of the Old Testament" because of their usefulness in transportation of both people and goods. It has been stated they are mentioned 142 times. One of the most significant was the triumphal entry of Jesus into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday. The importance of this is the gentleness and humbleness of Christ, who came into this world to teach us how to live and to save us. How fitting the use of a donkey, who was not showy and respected, but gentle and used to serve mankind.

"Behold your King is coming to you,
Lowly, and sitting on a donkey."

We wish you a very Happy Easter!
